Casetify

Is Casetify really listening to their customers?

The brand I chose for this blog post is Casetify. They are a Hong Kong tech accessory company that was founded on October 1, 2011. They plan to branch to the United States in 2025, especially since people love their phone cases and tech accessories. They’re primarily known for their customizable cases that are made out of organic and recycled materials.  I was introduced to this brand through a youtuber I watched (Bailey Sarian), who adored these phone cases. I’ve previously looked through their website and loved how easy it was to find information about a specific product. The most unique thing about this company is that they’re products are sustainably resourced. Casetify offers "10-day No Questions Asked Return or Exchange" and "6-month Product Warranty" on all of their products. You can customize your phone case to be personal and perfect for you. These attributes have given Casetify a competitive advantage over their competitors.

https://www.instagram.com/reel/CnzuYizv-Ju/?igshid=YmMyMTA2M2Y= In this video they're showing a NEW clear phone case that doesn’t stain or fade. In the comment of that video the customer is expressing their concerns on if this product even works because they’ve never had a clear phone case that hasn't faded yellow. Right away the social media team was responsive and helpful with the customers' understandable concerns. These two reviews are from “Trustpilot” which is linked at the bottom of Casetify website. The review states, “Still waiting for my order to be filled”. The customers goes on to say they ordered a phone case from them before Christmas and still haven’t received anything. From what I’ve seen, Casetify’s social media team hasn’t been able to be as responsive on this site as others. Another review that caught my attention was “Inaccurate/Ineffective discount code for first purchase”. This customer goes on to say they gave their email address to Casetify for the 10% discount on the first purchase, but still didn't receive the discount code. They proceed to state at the end of the review “ I’m disappointed with the marketing strategy” (Note: I don’t think they have access to respond to these concerns).  Overall I think the social media team at Casetify is fantastic at connecting with their customers, even when they’re concerns are negative.  Across all of Casetify’s social media I notice they primarily promote they’re phone cases, especially from the celebrities and social media influencers that promote their product.  For example Olivia Rodrigo (29.6 million followers on Instagram) collaborated with Casetify. They’ve been sponsoring Bailey Sarian YouTube videos (6.7 million subscribers on YouTube) so she’d promote they’re phone cases. As well as this, Casetify just rebranded themselves after having the same technique for 7 years. They changed the atmosphere of the company by rebranding their logo/packaging to be more bold and upgraded all social media to have more quality content. They’re improving on telling a clear story about their company/brand. They have quality social media platforms that promote they’re new products and stay up to date with the trends at the moment. The big marketing challenge this brand faces is the price of they’re product; the phone cases I’ve mentioned previously cost around 78$ to 98$ depending on the designs. Even with the price being so high they are still one of the fastest growing tech accessory companies in the industry. They are very accomplished with their marketing strategies. From what I’ve seen throughout all of Casetify’s social medias is that they're very interactive with the customer. They reply to tweets, Instagram comments, Facebook messages and TikTok comments. They post everyday to keep the customer updated on their latest products and provide quality content. They also have easy accessible resources for the customer on their website. All of these attributes are fantastic for the brand and their customer. If Casetify didn’t have these qualities they wouldn’t be as trusted as they are and have a decline in the celebrities and influencers would work with them.

If I were the brand manager for Casetify I would do the similar things they're doing but with more transparency. Specifically on Instagram and twitter, I would respond more openly about each of the customers issues on the post it was commented on. That would be for other customers possibly looking for similar information about the brand. It’s understandable that Casetify doesn’t want to have that much transparency online, but if I had the choice I wouldn’t send the customer a direct message to privately handle the problem. Across the board I learned that Casetify has an amazing social media team with great marketing strategies. I learned that rebranding your company can give your customers a better impression and can create more opportunities with bigger companies. This Casetify blog was fun to write about and I’d love to purchase from them soon.
